Description
A beautiful new design and extreme weight reduction was our goal to continue the Deschutes line of reels for 2015. The new Deschutes II (5/6 Weight) fly reel is 6061 aircraft aluminum CNC construction. With the standard FFB silent retrieve and a push-button spool release, this new Deschutes will amaze you in construction, performance and especially weight. A mere 4.3 ounces, the new Deschutes II reel has an outside spool diameter of 3.39 inches and a spool width of 0.94 inches. The original Deschutes II reel was 5.99 ounces and had a spool diameter of 3.42 inches and a spool width of 0.94 inches. More than a an ounce and a half of weight reduction is already a plus but the new components and drag system have been improved in our 3rd generation Deschutes reel. One-click drag adjustment is a common theme in all our reels and the new Deschutes V3 is no exception. The new Deschutes will come in a new brushed nickel color with a black reel foot. As always, since 2007, we have kept the price point the same as the product has continued to improve. $99.95 gets you the reel and a reel case and they are available now! Best Reel Ever!
I own a few of the FFB reels going back to 2008. This is by far the nicest and lightest reel they have ever made! Better than my $250 Ross Reel! You will love the looks, feel and quality for less than $100. I bought an original Deschutes II in 2008 for $99 and the reel has gone through three generation changes over the last 7 years and the quality has gone up even higher and the price has stayed the same. Never seen that in the other manufacturers ever!
